Devlog 2, it's been a while


It's been a while since the first devlog and this one will be short.

Unfortunately I haven't had much time to work on the project over the summer due to "stuff" but have been thinking more, this project was mostly for personal education so have narrowed down the milestones in hopes of finishing the project in a shorter time.

I also see learning to balance time, the size of the project with the level of knowledge as a good experience.

Now for the project, the new game design for the game is as follows: There will be no "bosses" but for now I will just increase the difficulty every 1-2 minutes with more and or different enemies. I will add 3 types of pick ups (health, multishot, shield) that the player can save a limited amount of for later use.

What I've added/done since the last time:

  • Added a spinning spike ball
  • Healthpack function with placeholder texture
  • Cleaned up code for easier reading
  • Added texture based health bar for player and enemies
